Review
The Word: Says Times critic Chris Sherman, "This is one place where I'll leave steak cooking to a pro.'' He recommends the rib eye and well-marbled charred, remarkably juicy and glistening with (manager Zack) Gross' seasoned house butter."
The Spot: The narrow and rectangular bar and grille offers an open-air kitchen with quick service. Enhancing the decor are exposed brick and warm hues - bright reds and yellows. Saucer lamps light the way in the rectangular room, which also features a flat-screen TV. A tile-top bar splits down the middle.
The Juice: The owner prides himself on serving good brew, as evidenced by the Newcastle and Dos Equis on tap or the bottles of Sol and Shiner Bock.
The Grub: Simply one of the best burritos you'll find anywhere, a treat in Mexican-starved downtown St. Pete. Also try the juicy slow-roasted, dry-rubbed pork or Baja fish tacos.
The Selling Point: One of the brightest places to grab a bite, and that has more to do with Z's people than its colors. The family- and friend-run biz employs servers who are professional yet chat you up like an old pal.
