Dj X Sat. (7/15): The innovative DJ and producer is celebrating the release of Club Experience Vol. 4 by bringing his dance-frenzied party on the road. The party starts at Floyd's at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, 5223 Orient Road, Tampa, at midnight but DjX is slated for 3 a.m.; $15 before 2 a.m. $20 after 2 a.m. for 21 and older.
Want to see a giraffe in the moonlight? Lowry Park Zoo continues its Safari Nights on Friday (7/14) with entertainment, rides and a chance to see animals at dusk. (The next one is Aug. 11.) Set your alarm clock and get ready to shop at the 33rd annual Sunrise Sale starting at 6:43 a.m. Thursday (7/20) in downtown St. Petersburg. More than 40 merchants are participating, including jewelry stores, art galleries and furniture stores, with businesses offering amazing sales - up to 90 percent off original retail prices. The Looper Trolley will run 7 a.m.-11 a.m. with seven stops along the bargain trail. Come in your PJs and you could receive gifts and extra discounts. Live music and refreshments will also offer some eye-openers.
You'll see a lot of fancy footwork at the Soccer on the Beach Tournament this weekend (7/14-16) on Clearwater Beach. The 5-on-5 tournament pits teams from Florida. It runs 8:30-6 p.m. Fri.-Sun., near Pier 60.
Get your house in order at the Tampa Bay Home Expo this weekend (7/14-16) with exhibits by several hundred home specialists, including furniture, decorating ideas, landscaping, remodeling, interior design, pools and spas. July 4 wasn't the last of the fireworks. Starting Friday (7/14) see the free Summer Fireworks at Channelside starting at 9 p.m. every Friday. Launched from a barge in Garrison Channel, the fireworks can be viewed from all around the Channelside area and downtown Tampa.
Salvador Dali Museum extends its hours on Friday (7/14) for the first of the summer's Friday night happy hour series, S'Real Fridays at Dali. Features Brazilian jazz by the O Som Do Jazz group; also surreal-related silent films and tours of museum exhibition "Picasso to Plensa.''
