Pick your way to celebrate Labor Day this weekend.
Hedonistic Labor Day Weekend bash Fri.-Mon. (9/1-4): This four-day party at Shephard' Beach Resort boasts two major headliners - funky Digital Underground, known for its Humpty Dance, and two-hit wonder Tone Loc, who rose to fame with Wild Thing and Funky Cold Medina. Tone Loc performs 9 p.m. Friday and Digital Underground takes the stage at 6 p.m. Monday. On Saturday afternoon, beachy types can check out the Miss Hawaiian Tropic beauty regional finals and reggae band Spy vs. Spy from 1 to 5 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. Sunday in Shephard's Wave night club, catch the "Girls Get Wet" beauty contest and sets by local band Sequel. Riddle of Steel/Auto! Automatica!! Sun. (9/3): At Orpheum, performers of energetic, angular art rock, Auto! Automatica!! celebrate their new CD and St. Louis' Riddle of Steel (see profile on next page) plays a rip-roaring hodgepodge of pop and hard rock. Plus, artwork by Brandon Dunlap, Steak Mountain, Paul Pavlovich and others will be on display. Admission is $8 for 21 and up, $9 for everyone else. Seminole Hard Rock End of Summer Celebration Sun. (9/3): Whoop-whoop South Beach party-style from noon to 11 p.m. by the pool at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel and then after hours at Floyd's, where DJ Ivano Bellini from Miami's Club Space - fancy! - spins tunes. And don't miss the bikini competition. Pool admission: $10 for women (18 and older only), $15 for men (21 and older). At Floyd's, it's $20 for everyone 21 and older. Beach Bash to benefit PARC Mon. (9/4): A diverse mix of bands and DJs - the Reality Band, Group X, Lucky Koreano, Verbal Science, DJ Short-e, DJ Clips and DJ Mingle Mix - perform at noon on the beach at Crabby Bill's Beach Club.
